Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a potent method of interacting with the contents of our unconscious. Though the roots of hypnosis go back thousands of years ago, it is vastly misunderstood and typically discredited in our modern day society. However, if we look more closely, we may realize that we have hypnotic episodes, also known as trances, many times during the day. Some common examples include driving while daydreaming and missing our exit, absorbed in a movie and finding ourselves emotionally activated, and scrolling through social media while not remembering its contents.
Far from theatrical or stage hypnosis, the essence of hypnosis is actually very practical. It involves inducing an altered state of being (mind and body) where our psychodynamics can relax. A shift from left brain fixation begins to occur and we tend to drop into theta brain waves (4 to 8 hertz). During this time, access to memories, thought patterns, belief systems, and unconscious body loops are uncovered and available. We then gently explore and influence these contents such that more of the true, essential self is present and less of the conditioned patterns that are no longer of service.
During my own journey, I uncovered thought patterns that were so unconscious and deeply ingrained that it would have been quite impossible to access them in any other way. Some of these were my own and explainable by the life I have lived, others were cultural and ancestral that could not be explained otherwise. I found great relief in finally understanding something that kept driving me, seemingly without my knowledge or permission, shed light on it, and trace its source. That intervention is already enough. However, we also examine and investigate these contents to find the most organic and natural path forward for them.
The hypnotherapy that I employ uses an empowered model that includes regression therapy and release-ment work, where the client is the leader, and I simply guide and support.
