A few more things…
How long does a session last?
Typically, an individual session lasts for 45 minutes while a couples session lasts for 60 minutes. Group coaching varies from a 4-hour session to a few days of a retreat like environment.
How does it work?
We would start with a free 15 minutes discovery session to get to know each other and see if this is a fit. You can bring all your questions, concerns, and comments to this session to help you make a decision on your next step.
For couples work, can the discovery session be with only one of us?
Yes, we can have a discovery session with one person within the couple. The first coaching session will need to start with both individuals together.
Can I start with couples work then switch to individual work?
I will generally recommend a coach for your individual work if I have been seeing you for couples work. In our couples work, it is not unusual for me to want to see individuals separately from time to time. This is, of course, if both parties in the couple agree.
How do I know which modality to use?
No need to know which modality to use. You can come as you are. As the session unfolds, one or many modalities may naturally arise as fit and appropriate for the moment. Generally, I pick what is most needed in that moment and that varies session by session and client by client.
What topics can be covered?
Any and all topics can be covered. There are no taboos for coaching sessions. Come as you are!
Is this virtual or in-person?
Both options are available. Although the majority of sessions tend to be virtual (as more practical), many people still prefer to have face-to-face interactions. If this is your preference, you are welcome to visit us in our beautiful Marina Del Rey location!
Can I start with individual work then switch to couples work?
Yes, if it is short term. For longer term options, I will generally recommend a couples coach if I have been seeing you for individual work. This is to make sure that your couples-ship benefits from a fresh pair of unbiased eyes.
How do I prepare for my first session?
You can come as you are for your first session. It would be helpful (but not necessary) to clarify for yourself what you want out of the session. One way you can do that is ask yourself: “If I had a magic wand and manifested a near-perfect coaching session, what would it look like for me?”
What is the frequency of the sessions?
It depends on where you find yourself in this moment in your life. If an individual / couple is in a crisis moment, twice a week or more may be appropriate. If, however, you are exploring something that needs as much exploration as it needs integration, once a week may be a better alternative. After intensive sessions, some couples and individuals choose bi-weekly as a “tune-up” frequency. This is entirely up to you and should become clear to you as we proceed with our sessions.
